Caterpillar 773D/E Front Access System

Description: Access stairway fitted to the front of the truck for improved access to the operator cab and deck. The stair folds to the horizontal position for normal truck operation.

Control: A two position toggle switch mounted in the operators cab controls the up/down position of the stair.

Safe Access: Provides safe access and egress for operation and maintenance of the truck (for driver and maintenance crews).

Pneumatic operation: A single pneumatic cylinder using air supply from the truck air system is used to power the stair.

Safety functions: The control toggle is mechanically interlocked to the park brake switch to ensure the stair can not be lowered unless the park brake is applied and the park brake can not be released until the stair has been raised. The stair and platform are mounted in such a way that the cab anti-vibration mounting and machine ROPS certification are not affected.
